Why?
What's the purpose of attaching a 15% tax to NPC corps? I happen to enjoy my 0% tax rate. If I wanted to give money to a player corporation, I would join one. You can't make anyone join a player corp. Have you lost the perspective that this is an MMO, and everyone is free to play how they choose? That you don't dictate my play style?
No, it doesn't make sense. There's some thick-skulled logic behind your 4 word post I'm sure, but feel free to share it with the rest of us. To get macro-miners into corps? Not going to happen. They're mining, not ratting. To get alts to leave NPC corps? Not going to happen. They're scouting, not ratting. To get mission runners to join corps? They will eventually.
All the new folks who start in an NPC corp, and generally spend a few weeks / months there while they learn how to play don't need to be griefed and wardecced. They need to learn how to play, and scrounge up every ISK that they can.
You want to get players out of NPC corps? Use a bit of common sense. Why are people like me in an NPC corp? Well...its because there's some great people there, always fresh faces coming and going, pricechecks available throughout the galaxy, no wardecs, and 0% tax. If you want older players to leave NPC corps, offer them something that they can't get in an NPC corp.
You get people out of NPC corps by offering them something that they want. Making their gameplay more fun. If you're trying to fix the problem of not being able to attack people you think you should be able to, an NPC corp tax isn't going to solve it. That's like President Bush saying, "Hrm...lots of illegal aliens crossing over from Mexico. Lets raise income tax." Makes no sense.
Neither do you.

Oh...and one more note. Since the arguments for taxing NPC corps seem to revolve around a RP perspective, here's another one.
I'm in Deep Corp Mining Inc. I'm working for the Caldari State. In return for my hard efforts, and my loyalty, the Caldari State doesn't tax me.
None of you get taxed either. Your CEO can give you the money back easily enough. But lets stick with RP. I'm the EVE equivalent of a government worker. When I'm on a military post, I don't pay tax. When I'm in Empire space, I shouldn't pay tax.
You all are NOT government / faction employees. You should have to pay tax to come into empire space. You should also have to pay factional tax to go into a factional space not of your own race. Yep. We need to balance this out.

Let me reiterate. 15% tax is not going to make me leave DCMI. The "reward" of me getting to have someone killed without the risk is complete BS. I could simply use an alt, like ALL OF YOU DO and post anonymously that I wanted to put a bounty on someone's head.
And let me reiterate again. You want 15% of my proceeds to disappear into the ethos? Fine. As long as 15% of your proceeds do too. Your corp tax is set at 25%, and 15% of that disappears into the great beyond. That corp tax you pay in a player corp gets you infrastructure and support. I don't pay a corp tax because I don't get that. Instead, I have to rely on my self-sufficiency.

Edited by: Curzon Dax on 03/01/2007 20:06:53 Versus, you've hit the nail square on the head.
You're in a one-man corp because you want to be. I don't care, that's your choice. I don't think you should lose your ISK, not do I think I should lose mine because we've chosen different, but equally viable playstyles.
Thus my original point....look beyond your warped views of Eve and stop trying to stuff your view of the world down my throat.
EDIT* And while you're screaming for NPC corps to be fixed, here's another important problem. Linkage

PCP runs their mouth off in local smacktalking anyone and everyone they put their corp at risk of a wardec. NCP runs their mouth off in local and they're untouchable.
PCP macro mines and they risk a wardec. NCP macro mines and they're untouchable.
*by untouchable I mean that if you do try anything you KNOW your ship is forfeit and you will take a sec hit, unlike a legit war target.
No, you've got it backwards.
Griefers can grief a small corp, but not me. Corporations can wardec people for the hell of it, but not me.
Dark Shikaki, you should be ashamed of yourself. You keep picking and choosing out of context things to answer to.
And for all the /signees.....one more time. If you want 15% of my ISK going to the ether of space, that's fine. As long as 15% of yours does too.

I just wanted to take this opportunity to tell you how I spent my days in DCMI.
1. I fly an Obelisk throughout highsec, making repeated passes through Jita. My cargo hold has about 19 T2 BPOs in it, and the rest is full of Morphite. I don't go anywhere, I just fly around in it.
2. I smacktalk every system that I go through on my way through, usually something to the effect of "Nyah nyah, can't shoot me!"
4. I add up all my profits.
7. I fly around in my brimming Obelisk some more, making fun of people who wish they could shoot me.

I suspect what you mean is that it is an advantage for those people who do not elect to play the game in the same way that you do.
The key word there is "elect" - it is (as the rules currently are) a choice. Until or unless CCP change those rules, expect people to choose to play the game the way they want to.
Never were truer words spoken.

Ahem.
Hey.
All you turds.
You don't live in NPC corps, you don't know how we think. Want to tax us 15%? 15% of your ISK disappears into the void of space too. All a tax would do is create a bunch of 1 man corps that dissolve and reform under new names. It would discourage socialization amongst NPC corp members who no longer have stability.
Stop trying to get your rocks off on the 5% or less of us who like where we live, and play with the other 95% of each other.
